MY PURPOSE
As someone who was a ridiculously busy Finance Manager within a law firm (5 times!), I now often say to myself “where was I when I was 'in house'?”…. I needed a “me”!
I needed a consultant who was well versed in the legal industry and understood the intricacies of a legal accounts department and the statutory requirements surrounding that. I needed a flexible senior workforce whom I could “pick up and put down”. Someone who I could give very little instruction to, who could then produce large output. I would internally roll my eyes as my COO or MP would say “let’s get you a temp”… a temp was not what I needed. I needed to clone me!
As Finance Managers, you all know what needs to be fixed – it’s just finding the dedicated time in amongst your regular compliance, reporting, staff management, month end accounting, ad hoc partner and management queries, to do the work. I have over 17 years of legal experience, working in Finance Manager roles at Ashurst, Colin Biggers & Paisley, Russell Kennedy, McCullough Robertson and Maurice Blackburn. These roles lent themselves perfectly to the beginning of my consulting career. Over the last 3 years I have worked with firms of all sizes on various projects.
Having gained extensive financial management and accounting experience, coupled with project management work, I am able to provide firms with expert software selection, strategic software implementation and practical process improvements.
